The Asian Jump Rope Union (AJRU) was founded in August 2019 by representatives from the former Asian Rope Skipping Federation (ARSF) and the Asian Pacific Jump Rope Federation (APJRF).

AJRU was established for the purpose of uniting the sport of jump rope/rope skipping in Asia and to enable Asia to have an organisation that could be recognized by the International Jump Rope Union (IJRU) as the official Asian continental organisation, which was realized thereafter.
